Destiny 2: 6 Upcoming Updates To Watch Out For

As Destiny 2 steadily approaches its one-week anniversary, an increasing number of Guardians have managed to successfully put an end to the threat posed by Dominus Ghaul and his Cabal cronies, in the process bringing safety, once more, to Earth's Last City and earning their place as the Traveler's - and mankind's - protectors. Indeed, by now, many reading this will be thoroughly absorbed in Destiny 2's end game activities, tackling Heroic Events, Nightfall Strikes and other challenges, all in an effort to gear up for those adventures yet to be revealed.

3) Curse Of Osiris

The cat’s out of the bag: Curse of Osiris is officially confirmed to be Destiny 2‘s first major DLC, purportedly coming this December. Not that we’d ever been in any doubt about the matter, of course. We’ve known for a while that the legendary Warlock for which the expansion is named after would be the primary focus of Bungie’s post-launch content plans, due to a symbol (above) associated with the character adorning the Expansion Pass teaser revealed before Destiny 2‘s launch, but it’s nice to have confirmation, nonetheless.

As for what new adventures and opportunities await those that take on the task of investigating the fate of Osiris, a leaked listing on Microsoft’s Xbox Store (via GameSpot) provides a few hints, including the reveal that a new planet, Mercury, will be opened up for exploration. “Journey through time and space to learn the secrets of Osiris, avert a dark future, and rebuild the ties between the legendary Warlock and his greatest student–Ikora Rey,” reads the description, which suggests that Osiris, wherever – and whenever – he may be, is still very much alive, with Guardians likely to enlist the help of Warlock Vanguard Ikora to help find him.

The ‘Infinite Forest’ of Mercury, as well as new story missions, Crucible maps, weapons and armor are all bulleted as promised features, with more to come. A new Raid, often one of the most lauded components of Destiny‘s endgame, isn’t mentioned, but assuming Curse of Osiris is a digital-only download, rather than a fully fledged expansion à la The Taken King, then we’re probably looking at DLC that’s similar in scope and size to Destiny‘s House of Wolves.

If the December launch window is to be believed, expect Bungie to come forth with new details in the near future.
