Here’s Where To Find And Destroy Cacti In The Desert In Fortnite Season 8

Fortnite is now in the third week of its eighth season, meaning a fresh new batch of challenges await both Battle Pass owners and non-subscribers alike. Those in the former camp will, of course, be privy to a more extensive list of tasks to complete, one of which involves brandishing your pickaxe and going to town on Battle Island's native cacti. Veterans of Epic Games' battle royale will likely know exactly where to go in order to find the prickly flora but they may prove elusive for newcomers or returning players not used to Epic's seasonal map refresh. To start, you'll want to make a note of Paradise Palms on the map. Currently, this is the designated desert area in-game and features not just Aztecian architecture, but the water-engorged plants that you seek.

Veterans of Epic Games’ battle royale will likely know exactly where to go in order to find the prickly flora but they may prove elusive for newcomers or returning players not used to Epic’s seasonal map refresh. To start, you’ll want to make a note of Paradise Palms on the map. Currently, this is the designated desert area in-game and features not just Aztecian architecture, but the water-engorged plants that you seek.

Either by being lucky enough to be in a match where the Battle Bus makes a pass over the biome or by going on foot, you’ll want to keep heading South East until you hit an area similar in appearance to that shown in the gallery below. With plenty around to cull, there’s little point in marking each individual cacti on the map.

Once the grassy knolls of Lonely Lodge and Fatal Fields give way to sun-scorched dunes, you’ll be exactly where you need to be. As always, you’ll want to keep your wits about you while harvesting the required amount of cacti for that sweet, sweet Battle Star. Other players will undoubtedly be attempting to tick the task off their own list, so expect some competition, at least for the next few days. Our recommendation is to come packing some rare or better gear to increase survivability.

Regardless of how much resistance you encounter, you’ll have destroyed the required 30 cacti in no time, leaving you with ample time to chip away at the remaining Week 3 challenges. We’ve already put together a handy guide (cheat sheet included, of course) to help you along the way, as well as a thorough explanation of how to complete Fortnite‘s latest discovery challenge. Enjoy!
