Grand Theft Auto V Will Feature Customizable Dogs

In an interview with Famitsu, Rockstar Games revealed some interesting new information about Grand Theft Auto V. According to the article, Franklin, one of the three playable characters, will have a dog named Chop who players can customize with various collars and accessories. From the small bits of gameplay shown so far, the Rottweiler appears to be able to hop into cars with players and take down enemies for them. The Japanese magazine also confirmed that the dog can die or be left behind at any point during the game.

Other news from the article included the mention of a scuba mission, and (in keeping with the developer’s previous game, Red Dead Redemption) the ability to hunt 15 different types of animals.

While there is still no news about multiplayer, the large amount of various activities in the gameplay reveal trailer shown last week makes Grand Theft Auto V look to be Rockstar’s most ambitious and  immersive title yet. Apparently, the team went so far as to include individual walk cycles for each of the main characters to help add to the realism. Pretty cool, right?

Grand Theft Auto V releases on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Let us know in the comments if you will be picking it up.
