Grand Theft Auto V will receive its first batch of additional content next Tuesday, November 19th, Rockstar has confirmed. Entitled Beach Bum, the DLC will be available to download through PlayStation Network and Xbox Live free of charge and will implement a whole host of weapons, vehicles and missions into the multiplayer mayhem; deathmatches to death-defying parachute challenges.

In a post on the studio’s blog, here’s what Rockstar had to say about the new content:

“This is just the first of many new content updates we’re working on for Grand Theft Auto Online in the weeks and months ahead. Please stay tuned here at the Newswire for word on the forthcoming Content Creator, full on cooperative Heists, and GTA Online’s take on Capture the Flag – plus info on some exciting new Story Mode updates as well.”

The new challenges in particular will include ‘Grass Routes II’ and ‘View of Vespucci’, among others, which will allow players to compete in off-road racing and in a parachute race from 2,000 feet, respectively. Additionally, the Beach Bum pack will introduce several new vehicles into Rockstar’s online sandbox, including the BF Bifta dune buggy, a Bravado Paradise camper van, the Canis Kalahari truck and the Speeder; a fan favourite speedboat from the handheld spin-off, GTA: Chinatown Wars.

We first learned about Grand Theft Auto V’s maiden DLC last month, and although it doesn’t include the much-anticipated cooperative heists nor the in-game Content Creator, fans will be pleased to see some fresh features and, more importantly, additional weaponry. The online component of GTA V has experienced several issues since its unstable launch last month, and as a means of compensation, Rockstar has begun distributing the $500,000 packages to affected players over the last week.

Beach Bum is set to launch for Grand Theft Auto V on Tuesday, November 19th as title update 1.06. In the meantime, let us know whether you’re looking forward to new multiplayer content for the game in the comments below.
