Developer Hello Games is aware of the technical issues affecting No Man’s Sky, and has vowed to roll out a PS4 patch “as soon as possible” soon after the PC version ships today, Friday 12.

Word comes by way of the studio’s official blog, where Lead Designer and Founder Sean Murray confirmed that a QA team has been brought on board to zero in on those problems, all the while outlining some workarounds for a handful of common problems.

At a loss as to why No Man’s Sky is jittering on PlayStation 4? Here are some handy tips:

  • If you believe you are stuck, or can’t reach your ship, be aware you can jetpack forever whilst pushing against any surface.
  • If you have made a mistake – you can revert to any of your two previous saves in the Options Menu.
  • If you have left your ship somewhere inaccessible, you will be able to summon it from landing pads or beacons found at most buildings or points of interest (marked by question marks).

For the time being, Hello Games hasn’t committed to a release timeline for that patch, and likely won’t do so until early next week once the PC version is out in the wild. Said Murray: “We can’t give you an ETA as frustrating as that is, because we’re also still working to get the PC release live! I know we’ve said this before, but our small team will continue to work on this game so we appreciate the patience the community has already shown us.”

It’s received a greater spotlight than perhaps any other indie game in history, and rumors of online play being removed is just one point of contention that has been raised over the past few days. No Man’s Sky is still a technical marvel, with our own review revealing a competent gaming experience that was just shy of greatness.
