Considering the near-total lack of new details we’ve had for the title since its announcement at last year’s E3, it’s somewhat surprising that the Sony exclusive is on-track for a release before the end of this year. Back in November of 2016, Insomniac told eager fans that the upcoming superhero title wouldn’t be present at either Sony’s PlayStation Experience event or, for that matter, the Game Awards, so the only footage the world has seen is still that which was shown back in June of last year.

That could all change at any moment, of course, and it’s looking likely that Spidey’s web-slinging antics will be fully unveiled at Sony’s presser at this year’s E3. With any luck, we’ll also get an official name and release date for the title. Those looking for a summary of everything we currently know about Insomniac’s latest project, including that Spider-Man PS4 has been built on the Ratchet & Clank engine and will be a fully open-world affair, can see here.

While Spidey fans will have to hold on a little longer for news on that front, this summer’s superhero blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming should help to make the wait just a little more bearable, as it hits theatres on July 7.
