Confirmation comes by way of Nintendo’s games spotlight at E3 2017 today, but the title is clearly in very early development, as no gameplay or cinematic trailer was in sight to whet fans’ appetite. No, for now, we’ll just have to be happy that Nintendo has finally decided to return to the series, which hasn’t had a mainline entry since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption all the way back in 2007. Fortunately, however, Ninty has Super Mario Odyssey, Pokken Tournament DX and Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon to share more details for on the show floor of this year’s E3, so there’s plenty to keep Nintendo fans occupied until more Metroid news surfaces.
