5 Games That Make Me Want A Playstation 4/Xbox One

I will tell you this right now. Buying a next generation console when it first comes out is a stupid, fanboy move. The first batch of next generation systems are always pretty much the beta run, even if no one wants to admit it. For proof of this, look to the millions of Xbox 360 users who got the red ring of death. That shit is unforgivable. It really is. You shouldn't fork over hundreds of dollars for something that may very well die on you. The smartest of us wait until the first few bugs have been discovered and worked out.

I will admit, I am not nuts about the Dead Rising series. I know it is great fun, and is a kind of sandbox for sickos like me who always fantasized about a zombie invasion. But the actual gameplay (forced boss fights, time limit to escape and so on) just wore on me rather quickly. Having said that, Dead Rising 3 has me very excited. The textures look amazing and the size and scope of the game is epic. To me, it looks like Dead Rising 3 is the game Dead Rising always wanted to be. Massive, overwhelming, and incredibly fun.

In the same breath, I am uber-aware that this series has disappointed me before, so I am not so stupid as to assume it won’t do it again. That being said, I would also be lying if I were to say the game didn’t kind of make me drool a little. Even stupid little features like how the zombies in the game will actually react to real life sounds in your own living room (damn sentient Kinect) just seem like it could amp up the intensity of the gameplay that much more.

Or it could be really annoying if you sneeze a lot. I guess it all depends on the person. But yes, Dead Rising 3 is the first next-gen game that I actually really want to play.
