7 Characters From The Walking Dead That Would Make For Great Telltale Spinoffs

While The Walking Dead's cast-iron grip on pop culture looks set to continue throughout 2018 and beyond by way of the ratings-topping TV show and, of course, the source material, there's one part of the post-apocalyptic series' wider universe that will soon be coming to a close and no, it's not Fear the Walking Dead.

Ruler of The Kingdom and all around Mr. Nice Guy, Ezekiel (that’s King Ezekiel to you, peasant) has gained a rather loyal following, both in the comic and TV series since his introduction as part of the Negan story arc, but despite his fan base, there’s really not much we know about the mock monarch’s life prior to the apocalypse.

In fact, the only substantial backstory we’ve ever really been provided with tells the story of a man that, prior to discovering a strong sense of leadership, was an everyday zookeeper likely operating in or around the Washington D.C. area. Regardless of the character’s roots, Ezekiel’s past occupation is what led to his meeting and befriending of Shiva, whereupon an unbreakable bond between man and undead-killing tiger was born.

The total lack of life events between his past life and the post-apocalypse, therefore, leaves ample room for Telltale to go exploring with its seasoned storytelling pen. Before he took on the role of ruler, Ezekiel no doubt spent his first few years drifting from camp to camp with Shiva by his side, and who knows what sorts of life changing events he bore witness to? I’d certainly like to find out.
