Rosario Dawson
Let’s get this clear right off the bat(girl): it’s probably highly unlikely that Rosario Dawson will end up being who Warner Bros. choose as their Barbara Gordon. Why? Because she’s already played the character in The LEGO Batman Movie. As fun as that film was, it would be strange if the more serious-minded DCEU started borrowing characters from this parody of their own franchise. Alhough, who knows, they have contracted its director, Chris McKay, to do the Nightwing movie.
Still, Dawson would be terrific in the role. Sure, at 37, she is a few years older than the rest of our candidates, but her role as Claire Temple in Marvel’s Netflix shows has demonstrated that she’s terrific at playing a compassionate, clever, badass woman. It’s surely not the direction they’re going in with the character, but if DC were looking to tackle Barbara Gordon as Oracle, then Dawson would be the top choice.
