10 Actresses Who Could Play Batgirl In The DCEU

Warner Brothers' DC Extended Universe just keeps on growing. After only recently announcing that a movie starring Nightwing is on its way, we now know that another of Batman's sidekicks is to feature in their own film. This time, it's Batgirl AKA Barbara Gordon. While this is exciting enough news on its own, what's really got people talking is the fact that Joss Whedon is currently in talks to direct the movie. If this goes ahead, it'll be one heck of a coup for DC, seeing as Whedon previously led Marvel to massive success with his two Avengers movies.

Chloe Grace Moretz

Yes, Chloe Grace Moretz is a probably an easy a choice to play Batgirl. After wowing in her breakout role as Hit-Girl in 2010’s Kick-Ass, at just 12-years-old, she’s already proved that she can play a tough-as-nails vigilante. An obvious pick she may be, then, but sometimes you don’t need to look outside the box to find the right person for the part.

Since then, Moretz hasn’t always found herself in the best movies – The 5th Wave, Dark Shadows or even Kick-Ass 2 – but she usually hands in a reliably strong performance. What would be important to the studio is that she’s also a known name and has proven herself as a capable Hollywood leading lady already. Something that immediately puts her ahead of many of the other actresses on this list, who Warner Bros. might be reluctant to take a chance on.
