10 Characters We Need To See In The Deadpool Sequel

For a very long time, it didn't appear as if it was ever going to happen, but after someone leaked that incredible Deadpool test footage, Fox was left with no other choice than to finally give the fourth wall breaking, Merc with the Mouth his very own movie. Between the response to that amazing CGI reel and the overwhelming demand for more, the studio was smart to give in, but whether their R-Rated gamble actually pays off with positive reviews and box office receipts remains to be seen next February. They're clearly confident that it will though, especially as there are already rumblings about a sequel being in development. Despite being a relatively obscure character and the fact that he's a a superhero who kids can't flock to see in action on the big screen, Kingsman: The Secret Service proved that you don't need to be Spider-Man or Captain America to find success, and as of right now, Deadpool's future is looking bright. So, with a sequel on the way, which characters from Deadpool's comic adventures should join him? Here, you'll find the ten who are most deserving of sharing the screen with Wade Wilson, whether they're good guys, bad guys...or just plain nuts! 10) Evil Deadpool Despite clearly embracing the comic books, the Deadpool movie is definitely grounded in at least some reality. However, as long as audiences and critics embrace the wackier elements of the character, there's no reason at all why we couldn't see Evil Deadpool make an appearance in the sequel. Wade Wilson can heal from pretty much anything and has lost everything from his head to each and every one of his limbs over the years, so a psychotic villain collecting all of those and keeping them in his fridge didn't exactly shock the Merc with the Mouth. After Deadpool threw the body parts into a dumpster, they ended up healing and creating Evil Deadpool, a blood hungry psychopath whose goal was to kill everyone he came in contact with. Seeing the character on the big screen would be a ton of fun for fans of the comic book, and would definitely push that R rating even further. 9) Siryn Deadpool has had a few love interests over the years, though no doubt one of the best is Siryn. The daughter of Banshee (who you may remember from X-Men: First Class), she has a sonic scream and is an incredibly powerful mutant. Siryn met Wade Wilson during a battle with Black Tom Cassidy and the Juggernaut, and he quickly became infatuated with her, going so far as to sleep outside her window in the X-Mansion. That's because she showed him such kindness when others rejected him, and as their relationship developed, Siryn managed to calm Deadpool down a little and convince him to do some good. A change in the comic book's creative team unfortunately meant that their budding romance never got to be fully explored, so it would be extremely satisfying to see the Deadpool sequel take these two characters' love story and really run with it. 8) Bob, Agent Of Hydra Marvel Studios own the rights to the villainous organization Hydra, so there's a risk that Fox won't be able to use this character. However, they can surely include a guy named Bob who works for a group that Fox can include in their movies (Weapon X for example), and the dynamic between him and Deadpool is something which should absolutely play out on big screen at some point. Bob was just a normal guy without a job who joined Hydra for the generous wage and benefits package, and when Deadpool invaded the facility he was working at, he decided to take him. Their relationship is certainly a bizarre one; Wade actually views Bob as a "pet" of sorts, though they do have a friendship beneath the surface. He wouldn't bring a lot to the sequel in all honesty, but Bob having even in a minor role could bring a lot of laughs. 7) Death There are two characters who have a relationship with Death: Deadpool and Thanos. The latter being part of The Avengers franchise surely wouldn't mean Fox can't introduce a version of a character who is essentially just a female Grim Reaper, and as nuts as it would be to see the Merc with the Mouth chatting away with Death herself, there's no doubt a way of utilizing her in the sequel in a way which works. Because Deadpool can't die, Death is in love with him, and so Wade sets out to try and lose his healing factor so that he can finally be with her. There's been arguments made over the years that Death is a figment of both Deadpool and Thanos' imagination, but either way, the character looking to rid himself of his healing factor so he can finally die and escape his scarred existence could make for surprisingly powerful material on screen. 6) Domino Before it was revealed that Morena Baccarin will be playing Copycat in Deadpool, the majority of comic book fans were hoping she had been cast as Domino. A mutant with good luck powers, the character can make any bad situation good (if she jumps from a hotel window during a gunfight for example, don't be surprised if there will be a pool below to break her fall), and just so happens to be a tough as nails ass-kicker, too. Like Wade, Domino was a mercenary before joining the X-Men, so these two crossing paths would make a whole lot of sense. Her unique abilities are very different to what we've seen on screen before and are pretty much perfect for all different sorts of sight gags which would fit in well in this kind of movie. 5) X-Force Deadpool has fought both with and against X-Force over the years, and if that long rumoured movie focusing on the team is ever going to happen (last we heard, Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow was supposed to be writing the script), then laying the groundwork in the Deadpool sequel makes perfect sense. That could consist of introducing characters from the eventual spinoff or even having an early version show up to fight Wade before he ultimately ends up joining them, but with Hugh Jackman moving on from Wolverine, having Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth be a focal point of X-Force would be a smart move by Fox. As part of the most recent iteration of the team who deal with the jobs too violent for the X-Men, Deadpool got the chance to show off a different side of himself and proved to be a surprisingly valuable part of the group. 4) T-Ray T-Ray is a villain many fans expected to see in Deadpool's first solo outing, especially as the history these two characters share is a pretty fascinating one. T-Ray claims that he is really Wade Wilson, and that "Jack" (who we all know better as Wade Wilson/Deadpool) actually stole his identity and killed his wife while on the run from Weapon X. Deadpool, on the other hand, believes that T-Ray is "Jack," and the fact that both of these characters are so completely insane means we've never had a definitive answer either way. Now, the upcoming movie is going to explore Deadpool's origin and obviously the fact that he's Wade Wilson, but that doesn't mean a sequel couldn't do a lot with a similar sort of plot and a colourful and formidable villain like T-Ray, who has the ability to do everything from teleport to emit energy blasts and exhibit super strength. 3) Ajax You're probably wondering why we'd list a villain who is going to have a leading role in next year's Deadpool movie. Well, just as Ed Skrein himself has pointed out, the version of the character we meet in that is going to be the early version of Ajax, not the one best known to many comic book fans. As you can see from the image above, after an early battle with the Merc with the Mouth, Ajax returns years letter with some serious enhancements to get his revenge. On the one hand, it feels like this could be a storyline better suited to a third instalment of the franchise, but if a returning Ajax were to be a side villain to another of the bad guys listed here, his return could definitely work. Skrein's passion for the character has come across strongly in interviews as well, so it would also be nice to see the actor get a chance to further explore him. 2) Wolverine With Hugh Jackman's tenure as Wolverine coming to an end in 2017, this is something which frustratingly may never happen. There is, of course, a chance that the Australian actor is going to make a surprise appearance in Deadpool next year, but seeing these two very different heroes share the screen for an extended period of time would be incredible, as would them coming to blows (just imagine them tearing each other apart while their respective healing factors glue them back together). Rumour has it that the Deadpool sequel will take the release date currently held by the Fantastic Four sequel, and if Fox were to put The Wolverine 3 in that June slot and move Deadpool 2 to March, this could happen, and Jackman wouldn't have broken his promise about playing the character for the final time. It's definitely unlikely, but stranger things have happened... 1) Cable This simply has to happen. Cable is the time-travelling son of Cyclops and Jean Grey (well, a clone of her), and he shared a series with the Merc with the Mouth for a number of years. In that, this mismatched duo went on all sorts of crazy adventures, sometimes coming to blows, but developing one hell of a friendship along the way. With the right actor as Cable - who could be the straight man to Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool - exploring this relationship on the big screen could be tremendous fun, and there's a wealth of material for Fox to choose from when it comes to the story which could be told featuring these two. There's a lot of fan demand to see Cable on the big screen, and having him show up in this sequel (which Simon Kinberg has said they've discussed) would be an ideal way of setting the stage for that X-Force movie.
