10 Characters Who Could Die In Avengers: Infinity War

On May 4th, 2018, the MCU will finally reach the moment that every movie to come out of the studio over the past ten years or so has been building up to. In Avengers: Infinity War, the assembled forces of the Marvel universe will rise up against the Mad Titan Thanos in a bid to stop him from wreaking havoc with the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet. Though the movie's sequel, to be released a year later, isn't being billed as Part II anymore, you can bet that the epic story will be continued in the follow-up film as well.

Out of the Avengers team, one of the first who jumps to mind as a sitting target for Thanos is Vision. Chiefly because the worthy android owes his life to the Mind Stone, which Thanos needs to complete his Infinity Gauntlet. At some point, then, Thanos is going to have to come down to Earth and rip the stone out of Vision’s head. We’re not an expert on cosmic science, but we imagine that would probably kill him.

In fact, such a scene could even act as the replacement inciting incident for the story. Think about it, after losing Vision, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes set out to take on Thanos and do what they do best: avenge. Though we haven’t known Vision too long, his death would have added weight as the character was formally JARVIS, Tony Stark’s A.I, a character who’s been in the MCU since its first movie.

All roads point to Vision’s death, then, but there could potentially be a way out for him. If Marvel really wanted to keep Paul Bettany around, they could easily have Tony create some positronic brain to keep him alive, even after the Mind Stone is removed. The character definitely has a lot of potential, especially if this next Avenger also survives….
