10 Characters Who Could Die In Avengers: Infinity War

On May 4th, 2018, the MCU will finally reach the moment that every movie to come out of the studio over the past ten years or so has been building up to. In Avengers: Infinity War, the assembled forces of the Marvel universe will rise up against the Mad Titan Thanos in a bid to stop him from wreaking havoc with the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet. Though the movie's sequel, to be released a year later, isn't being billed as Part II anymore, you can bet that the epic story will be continued in the follow-up film as well.

Another character whose death would make a huge impact, and would prove that Thanos is the biggest threat that the Avengers have ever faced, is the father of the team himself, Nick Fury.

Yet again, the evidence is stacked up against him. Nick Fury’s role in the movies has been greatly lessened ever since S.H.I.E.L.D. was disbanded in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it would probably be the right time for the character to bow out in a blaze of glory in Infinity War. Samuel L. Jackson’s contract also expires in two movies’ time. The odds are, then, that he’ll make it through to the second film and then be bumped off.

Fury’s death would also have a strong symbolic meaning. As we’ve seen many a time when movie mentors die and their students become all the stronger for it, his passing would mark the next era of the Avengers, as the MCU marches forward into Phase Four and beyond.
