2015 was an incredible year for superhero adaptations (so long as you pretend that Fantastic Four never happened), with the genre finding great success on both the big and small screens. With 2016 looking set to be even bigger thanks to the release of movies like Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, not to mention TV shows like Luke Cage and Legends of Tomorrow, it's definitely a good time to be a comic book fan.

A lot of people thought that Edgar Wright no longer directing Ant-Man meant that the movie was doomed, but replacement director Peyton Reed outdid himself and the fact that he’s returning for Ant-Man and The Wasp is very good news indeed.

While this movie had a lot of highlights (from a purely visual standpoint, the titular character’s shrinking powers made this the most unique superhero movie of 2015), Scott Lang taking on The Falcon right outside the New Avengers Facility blows them all away.

This unexpected fight scene – providing you avoided the TV spots – was a tremendous amount of fun and a truly perfect example of what makes the MCU so great.
