Don’t get me wrong, I’m 110% Team Batman, but you have to hand it to this trailer for addressing the elephant in the room and the question which many moviegoers will be asking themselves next March: Why doesn’t Superman just use his heat vision to wipe Batman out of existence?
The Man of Steel offers an explanation for that here as he battles the Dark Knight, but comic book fans will be well aware that Superman’s inability to put Batman down is what gives Bruce Wayne the advantage.
I wouldn’t be remotely surprised to see Superman gain the advantage here only to quickly regret showing Batman mercy when the Caped Crusader pulls off some sort of dirty trick in his quest to take the Metropolis based hero down.
Either way, it’s going to be epic.
