10 Extremely Underrated Animated Comic Book Movies

While the fanboys battle it out on Facebook and Twitter about which cinematic universe is better, there's a whole bunch of animated comic book movies waiting around to be watched. Sure, some of them, such as Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, have garnered critical acclaim and legendary status, but many have also gone under the radar in a quiet fashion. I'm willing to bet that there's more than a handful that you've probably never even heard about.

Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders (2016)

Holy mothers named Martha, Batman! Why is this film on this list?

While there was a decent amount of noise for the return of Adam West and Burt Ward as the dynamic duo in Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, the film did sorta pass by unnoticed at the end of day. I mean, it only has nine reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and the overall press coverage was minimal for such an occasion. For crying out loud, this was Adam West and Burt Ward! They deserved better than this.

The story itself was exactly what you’d expect from Batman ’66: silly, campy, over the top, and more fun than a Brazzers 12-month subscription. Featuring the likes of the Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman, the whole rogues’ gallery rolled up and played their kooky part in this whacky affair. With such a bold and colorful cast, there was hardly a moment to even consider boredom in this adventure.

The LEGO Batman Movie might be the funniest Dark Knight film to date, but I’m willing to wage that Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is the most fun.
