Comic book movie fans are probably the best at spotting cameos, as they're always on the lookout for nods to the comics hidden in the films. Marvel aficionados, in particular, are naturals at this, as they know that Stan Lee will always turn up in a (generally) humorous minor role.

If Tony Stark lived in the real world, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to think that he would know Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and inventor most known for co-creating Paypal. It’s not really a surprise, then, that Musk turned up in Iron Man 2.

It’s an easily missed scene, but Tony bumps into him at a restaurant, where Musk says that they will get together at some point to talk about a new idea for an “electric jet” – a nod to Musk’s ambition to make one in real life.

Funnily enough, Musk’s former wife Inception actress Talulah Riley (they have recently filed for divorce) also appeared in a minor role in the MCU. She turned up as an Asgardian nurse treating Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World.
