Hugh Jackman’s turn as Wolverine has made him the undeniable breakout star of the X-Men franchise, but fans do have one bone to pick with his character; he has never worn Wolverine’s iconic yellow suit from the comics. Never. In sixteen years. This alternate ending from The Wolverine, however, could have gone someway to fixing that problem.

Here, Yukio gives Logan a mysterious briefcase with the classic costume inside, seemingly hinting that Logan would wear it in the next film.

Director James Mangold has said that this was his attempt at addressing the huge call to see the suit in the movies. However, the scene was presumably cut because Wolverine doesn’t have it on in Days of Future Past.

Hopefully, Mangold will reinstate the costume in the third Wolverine movie that he is set to direct, which will also be Hugh Jackman’s final appearance in the role.
