Long Halloween

Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s thirteen part masterpiece takes place during Batman’s early years as he takes on a mysterious new killer known as Holiday who strikes once every month on a specific holiday. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Captain James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim, while attempting to stop the crime war between two of Gotham’s most powerful families.

It’s an epic story which includes many of the Caped Crusader’s most iconic villains, while it also established Calendar Man as a significant threat in Batman’s world. In some ways, Batman: The Long Halloween would work better as an episodic tale, but if Warner Bros. Animation can find a good way to adapt the lengthy story, then it’s essential that they do so as soon as possible.
