Another Arrow costume strikes again! When you consider what Black Canary’s meant to look like and what the show did to her, you’ll see it’s quite a departure from the source material. Well, at least they got the blonde wig part right, so that’s something to celebrate.

Mind you, this costume change is likely due to the fact that most people would rage if Laurel wore the fishnets and skimpy getup from the Green Arrow series. Along with Power Girl and Starfire, Canary is one of those characters whose costume causes a lot of debate about sexism and objectification in comic books. It’s understandable, so let’s give this one a pass here for doing the right thing.

You know, now that we think of it, Arrow‘s Black Canary looks more like Black Cat than anyone else. Maybe someone in the costume department got confused and when it was finally time for filming, they thought no one would spot the difference. That would explain a lot of Arrow‘s decisions.
