3) Secret Invasion

With Marvel set to have Earth’s Mightiest Heroes explore outer space in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, having that leading to more cosmic threats makes perfect sense. The studio can’t use the Skrulls unfortunately (they’re owned by Fox because of the Fantastic Four franchise), but there’s nothing to stop them from utilizing another shape shifting race of aliens!

In the comics, the Skrulls infiltrating Earth and posing as members of The Avengers led to a lot of mistrust between the heroes, while their eventual invasion of Earth led to an epic battle between the two sides. Which part of that doesn’t sound like the basis for an amazing movie?!

Marvel could even start laying the groundwork for this come Infinity War by revealing that one of the returning Avengers is actually an alien in disguise.
