4) About That Hugh Jackman “Cameo”

While there’s no denying how disappointing it is that Deadpool doesn’t feature an actual cameo from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the movie still makes sure to reference the character in some very funny ways.

Firstly, the Merc with a Mouth implies that he provided the hero with, ahem, oral relief in exchange for his own movie. Later, he unmasks in front of Vanessa and has Jackman’s face stapled to his own, a moment which actually survived from the original draft of the screenplay.

Another highlight comes when Deadpool pokes fun at the fact that the only X-Men he ever sees are Colossus and Negasonic, mentioning that the reason for that is probably because of his film’s low budget.
