MAN OF STEEL

It’s late in the game, and in a bid to get Superman to fight Batman, Lex Luthor takes Martha Kent hostage, vowing not to let her go until Superman first destroys Batman. Superman duly obliges, confronting Batman in the hope that the man in black might help him find his kidnapped mother. Long story short, Supes gets into a tussle with the Gotham knight in the process, ending in the two battered, but with their rivalry resolved.

All’s well that end’s well – except none of it needed to happen in the first place. Throughout Batman V Superman, we see Superman flying to the aid of Lois Lane whenever she’s in danger. He’s an all-knowing, all-sensing super-being – of course he can hear that she’s in trouble all the way over in Africa. Here’s a question though: how come Superman can hear when Lois is in danger from thousands of miles away, but can’t locate his mother when she’s tied up somewhere in the same city?
