12 Things You Might Have Missed In The Logan Trailer

Despite being one of the most beloved and iconic cinematic superheroes around, Wolverines's two solo movies do not rank among many people's top comic book movies. Both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine - in particular the former - squandered interesting premises as things devolved into mindless action. With the upcoming third Wolverine movie being Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the role after 17 years, there is a lot of pressure on it to step up to the plate and act as a terrific send-off to the character.

At one point in the trailer, we see Logan returning to an old, dilapidated water tower, which we can gather he’s using as a home. From this shot alone, we can work out a lot about this terrible vision of the future.

For one, Logan (and his house guest, who we will get to in a moment) are laying low, presumably to avoid the same fate as all the other mutants. The fact that he’s having to live in such a makeshift abode also suggests that society as a whole has broken down.

Unlike the robo-apocalypse that occurred in Days of Future Past, however, there looks to be a much more grounded, and chillingly realistic, reason for the end of everything this time around. We’re not sure what it is, but the old water tower could represent a wider issue as it seems like the world is incredibly low on natural resources.

Also, notice the bullet holes adorning the tower. They may have been from well before the events of the film take place, but something tells us that a big battle happened here not too long ago, despite Logan’s attempt to stay out of trouble.
