12 Things You Might Have Missed In The Logan Trailer

Despite being one of the most beloved and iconic cinematic superheroes around, Wolverines's two solo movies do not rank among many people's top comic book movies. Both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine - in particular the former - squandered interesting premises as things devolved into mindless action. With the upcoming third Wolverine movie being Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the role after 17 years, there is a lot of pressure on it to step up to the plate and act as a terrific send-off to the character.

The trailer next introduces to the film’s other main character in the form of an anonymous young girl (as played by Dafne Keen). When Logan asks who she is, Charles replies: “She’s like you… Very like you.”

You might think that this simply means she’s a mutant, maybe one with Wolverine’s healing factor, but Xavier’s words most likely have another meaning. If fan theories are to be believed, Keen is playing Laura Kinney AKA X-23 AKA a female clone of Wolverine, complete with his regenerative powers and adamantium claws.

It has long been suspected by fans that X-23 would be added to the movies in place of Logan when Jackman steps down. In the comics, Laura takes up the Wolverine title and costume after Logan dies. It is likely, then, that she’ll do the same in the movies. Though probably once she’s a little older.

For now, we look forward to seeing a touching father/daughter relationship between the pair. It’s that dynamic, and Jackman’s resemblance to the main character, that really gives the Logan trailer a strong flavour of The Last of Us video game. And that’s not a bad thing by any means.
