Audiences were truly spoiled for great performances in 2015.

It seems now like we may be in some kind of golden age for exceptional actors and actresses working in their prime – Tom Hardy, Emily Blunt, Michael Fassbender, Brie Larson, Oscar Isaac and the like – as huge stars are pushing themselves further than ever, giving us tremendous performances that continue to leave us wildly impressed.

A mere top ten wouldn’t do them all justice – this was a vintage year for film, after all, full of fine turns from some of Hollywood’s absolute best. So, instead, here are the 20 best movie performances of 2015.
