Um, Pretty Much Everything From The Marked Ones
When The Marked Ones came out, it was touted as a spinoff-type entry that existed outside of Katie’s suburban rampage. This, of course, proved to be total bullshit, and Jesse’s demonic transformation ended with Hector traveling through time and finding himself in the middle of Katie’s initial attack on Micah. So, not only did Christopher Landon’s “spinoff” tie directly into the original storyline, but it means Hector influenced Micah’s death by distracting him from Katie’s knife-wielding ferocity. How, you may ask, does this play a part in The Ghost Dimension?
Ha – it doesn’t.
[zergpaid]Jesse, a complete demon, is now running free after meeting Katie, another converted demon. They both share the same bite mark, and they both share the same demonic face, yet he’s absolutely nowhere to be seen in The Ghost Dimension.
There’s a moment after Micah’s death where Katie and Jesse are totally alone, and after being infected by the same coven, you’d think they might stick together, shoot the demonic shit, or get into something friendly/evil like that. The Marked Ones raised SO many connecting questions between the Paranormal Activity movies, but The Ghost Dimension basically ignores everything from its urban brother besides the existence of time-jumping.
At the least, throw in some mention to Jesse’s whereabouts, like a news story detailing murders connected to a “mysterious teen.” Jesse is a legitimate demon running free in the world – what now?
