5 Villains That We Want To See In Avengers: Infinity War

After an eternity of waiting, Avengers: Age of Ultron is finally about to hit heatres... so naturally, the fanboys are already looking ahead to what comes next. Those disappointed that Joss Whedon has declined to direct the two-part Avengers: Infinity War should rejoice that the movies will at least be left to the capable hands of Anthony and Joe Russo, both of whom helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier to critical acclaim.

Kang avengers

It’s a secret rarely discussed among comic book geeks in the know, but some of the most popular heroes out there are kind of lacking when it comes to awesome super villains and unfortunately, that includes Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Aside from Ultron, one of the team’s few signature opponents is long overdue an appearance on the big screen and his name, my friends, is Kang the Conqueror.

Despite possessing no actual superpowers, Kang’s expertise in time travel has enabled him to take on the Avengers time and time again using only his genius intellect… oh yeah, and technology from the 40th century. Frankly, I’m surprised the Marvel universe could even last that long, given all of the world shattering events that happen every other week, so fair play to those costumed wackos. Now, you could question why Kang doesn’t just go back to the birth of each Avenger and kill them off one by one, but… surely… errrr… yeah, I’m drawing blanks here.

Thanos is an epic villain, one of the few who can take on the Avengers singlehandedly, but presumably, his presence will no longer be as important once phase two ends, so Marvel will need a new super baddie to tie the films of phase three together. As is now the custom, it would make sense for Kang to appear in some capacity towards the end of phase two, before his presence is fully required in subsequent movies.

Avengers: Infinity War would provide the perfect opportunity for the writers to introduce the would be conqueror, perhaps in a quest to steal the time gem from Thanos. He’s already got five other gems. Surely Thanos won’t miss one itty bitty infinity stone, right?
