7 Actors Who Should Play Green Lantern

The words 'Green Lantern' can strike fear into the hearts of those who sat through the travesty that starred Ryan Reynolds just a few short years ago. Back in the 90s, DC replaced Jordan with a new Green Lantern in an attempt to keep things fresh. In contrast to most of the iconic DC heroes, Kyle Rayner was a more carefree character who didn’t fully understand the responsibility of being a superhero until his girlfriend was killed and stuffed into a refrigerator… because, you know… comics.

As one of the stars of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington was propelled into the spotlight for his complicated portrayal of Jon Snow, yet Hollywood stardom still eludes him. So far, the actor’s only notable roles have been in the dire Silent Hill sequel and as the lead in Pompeii, which was just meh… but it would be harsh to count Harington out just yet.

A starring role in one of DC’s most highly anticipated movies yet could breathe new life into Harington’s movie career and the young actor would bring an emotional depth to the role that was decidedly lacking in Warner Bros.’ previous effort. The Game of Thrones actor is also no stranger to controversial storylines, so if DC decide to take a darker route and turn Rayner’s girlfriend into a popsicle, then Harington could certainly play the part convincingly.
