7 Movies That Need Their Own Kickstarter Campaign

How much would you pay to greenlight a sequel to your favorite movie or resurrect your favorite canceled TV show for a feature length film? Would you donate $10 and receive a page of the actual script, or would you donate $10,000 in return for an on-screen talking role in the film itself? Sure, it's worked for short films and other projects, but could a big-budget film requiring millions of dollars in start-up cash be able to raise enough from the public to appease studio heads before investing themselves?

Arrested Development

Is Arrested Development being revived by Netflix already? Yes. Is a movie also in the works? Probably. Do I still want to see what Arrested Development could do if put on Kickstarter? Oh, most definitely.

Listen, if Veronica Mars could amass $2,000,000 in donations thanks to Kickstarter, I’d want an Arrested Development Kickstarter just to see if Mitchell Hurwitz could beat Rob Thomas’ astonishing accomplishment. Sure, Veronica Mars has a cult following, demonstrated by the Kickstarter craziness itself, but Arrested Development has some of the most outspoken fans who berate the powers that be who prematurely canceled such an intelligently hilarious show. I’d personally just love to see the whole three-ring circus of people finally getting to put their money where their mouths are, interested if superfans could beat Veronica Mars‘ numerous records.

Personally, based on all the hype, I bet Arrested Development could double Veronica Mars. Blind faith and unwavering devotion after all these years really go a long way, which Arrested Development has in boatloads, and honestly, the $2 million Veronica Mars amassed completely blew away expectations not even believable in my wildest dreams, so now I’m actually thinking “Well, why cant Arrested Development do it too?”
