7 Spectacular Superhero Romances

For many, there is nothing like relaxing in the arms of the one you love after a hard day at work. Spending time with that special someone, who helps you forget all the stresses and strains of the daily grind, can be invaluable for re-charging the batteries. In this respect, superheroes are just like the rest of us. They may not all bleed when you prick them, but they do all seem to need a little tender loving care from time to time.

You know how it is. You meet a guy, fall in love, and then he goes and gets caught in a big machine that gives him a tendency to turn into a giant, green rage monster when is heart rate increases. There’s always something, am I right? And then your Dad goes on a life-altering crusade to bring your loved one in, so he can be turned into an over-sized lab rat. It’s the ultimate in ‘over-bearing father-in-law’ situations.

Such is the lot of Dr. Bruce Banner and Betty Ross who are bonded by a deep and abiding affection, but regularly kept apart by the anger issues of both Banner, and Betty’s father – General Thunderbolt Ross. Caught between these two forces of testosterone, Betty is reduced to constantly pleading with both of them to calm the heck down, and engage in a little peace, love and understanding. I mean, no wonder Bruce is eventually drawn to Black Widow, with all her hand-stroking, lullaby-chanting ways. Sure, she’s a complicated woman, but at least there’s no looming patriarchal figure to deal with.
