Jabba The Hutt
Bear with us, we know that a movie revolving around a giant green slug-looking thing does not sound like an appealing premise. But, the Hutts, especially Jabba, are featured across all of the Star Wars films as an epic and powerful crime family.
As such, there’s some potential there for a Godfather-esque space epic hybrid, and besides, Jabba is badass. He’s responsible for Han being frozen in carbonite, he enslaved millions and forced Leia into the golden bikini. He also has a swarm of bounty hunters at his disposal; mercenaries he could use to carry out any number of exciting executions. When we meet him, he’s at the top, the fearless don of a galactic hierarchy. But, with a spinoff, we can find out how he got there and watch his rise to power. It’d be pretty interesting to see a new side of Jabba, don’t you think?
It may not be the highest priority on Disney’s list, but a Jabba film could create a new kind of Star Wars movie, one revolving around crime, riches and corruption, and who wouldn’t want to see that?
