Plot twists have been a staple of film since the silent days of cinema. They’re a method of jump-starting a narrative that might have grown too predictable, or simply providing a new take on things that changes the audience’s perspective.
It should come as no surprise, then, that these tropes have been embraced by the sub-genre known to many as comic book movies. These are among some of the biggest blockbusters ever produced, and making each and every one of them memorable is a difficult task, even for talented filmmakers.
