8 Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man We Need To See On The Big Screen

Last year, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures made history when they reached a deal which will see Spider-Man become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Tom Holland, the new Peter Parker will first show up in Captain America: Civil War before starring in a solo outing next year from director Jon Watts. As of right now, we still haven't seen so much as a single official image of the new Spider-Man, but the future still looks bright for the iconic superhero.

Spider-Ham

Yes, I’m being 100% serious here!

While a live-action version of Spider-Ham is probably asking too much (though who would have ever guessed we’d see Howard the Duck at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy?), bear in mind that Sony are developing an animated feature with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and this character would definitely fit into that type of setting.

His origin story is absolutely ridiculous, but wacky enough to work in a cartoon, and a character who is either a pig with the abilities of a spider or a spider with the limitations of a pig would definitely appeal to a younger audience.

A razor sharp script like The LEGO Movie‘s would also grab the attentions of older viewers and fans alike, and it would be a bold and exciting move by Sony to introduce Spider-Ham and the likes of Mary Jane Waterbuffalo and King Doctor Octopussycat (I swear I’m not making any of this up; these are all real characters who could appear in a Spider-Ham film).
