7) New York City In Peril

Thanks to some recently revealed toys for Doctor Strange, we now know that Hannibal alum Mads Mikkelsen is playing the villainous Kaecilius. A relatively obscure comic book character, little is known about this big screen version, but he’s clearly being set up as a major threat to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That’s something the trailer makes abundantly clear by putting New York City, and presumably the entire world, in serious peril. What makes that a big deal is the fact that Stephen is going to take on an Avengers level threat all by himself, something which is going to help establish the Sorcerer Supreme as a key player in Phase 3 right from the very start.
