3) A New Role For Wong
In the comic books, Wong was Doctor Strange’s manservant. That obviously stems from the character being created in a very different time, but he’s never really shed his image as a racist stereotype, especially as recent years have seen the character do little more than utilize his martial arts skills between making tea for his “master.”
[zergpaid]Thankfully, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version is quite a bit different, and this trailer appears to make it clear that he’s actually on the same level as Mordo when it comes to being one of The Ancient One’s most trusted allies and an adviser to Stephen. That’s a great new role for Wong, and hopefully we’ll get to see much more of him moving forward as he definitely appears to have a pretty intriguing part to play in the movie.
