7) Scoot McNairy Is Playing Jimmy Olsen
Scoot McNairy is a fantastic character actor who worked with Ben Affleck on Argo, so everyone was excited when he was added to the cast of Batman V Superman.
While it was initially rumoured that he may have been cast as Nightwing, speculation went into overdrive when he was spotted on set wearing green socks for some sort of CGI alterations to later be made his legs; surely that meant he had been cast as The Flash?! Well, Ezra Miller landing the role put an end to that theory, and it’s since been reported that McNairy has actually been cast as Daily Planet photographer, Jimmy Olsen.
However, the twist will be that Jimmy lost his legs during the battle between Superman and General Zod in Man of Steel. Rather than holding a grudge against the hero though, Jimmy apparently speaks up for him at the hearing we saw in the Comic-Con trailer for the movie, which is a very cool twist on both the character and his relationship with Superman.
Their friendship is one of the most endearing in comics, and seeing that explored on the big screen will be great, as will showing a more personal side to the ramifications of that battle and the destruction it caused.
