8 Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Rumors We Hope Come True

While Marvel and DC fans continue to bicker over which will be better, there's no denying that both Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are 2016's most highly anticipated releases. While the former will see the Avengers divided, the latter is all about establishing the DC Extended Universe and assembling the Justice League. Oh, and Batman and Superman kicking each other's butts as well.

Robin Death

While we know that Batman is going to be making an appearance in Suicide Squad, rumours actually point to The Joker first showing up in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Jared Leto’s take on on the Clown Prince of Crime has made the David Ayer helmed movie one of 2016’s most highly anticipated releases, and with the Caped Crusader set to clash with him in that film, it makes sense that their relationship might be fleshed out here first.

So, what will it involve? Apparently, we’re going to see a flashback to the day The Joker murdered Robin, as Snyder looks to recreate the iconic “A Death in the Family.”

The director has already made comic book fans happy by having Robin’s costume on display in the Batcave, though the writing scrawled across it has obviously added an interesting, and rather dark, new wrinkle. Even if it’s just implied, seeing The Joker beating Robin to death with his now iconic weapon of choice – a crowbar – would be an incredible moment, and one the director would no doubt embrace given how faithfully he stuck to the source material with Watchmen.

A scene like this would also give us a good reason to hate the villain going into Suicide Squad later on in 2016.
