8 Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Rumors We Hope Come True

While Marvel and DC fans continue to bicker over which will be better, there's no denying that both Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are 2016's most highly anticipated releases. While the former will see the Avengers divided, the latter is all about establishing the DC Extended Universe and assembling the Justice League. Oh, and Batman and Superman kicking each other's butts as well.

Doomsday

With Batman and Superman (and Wonder Woman) are expected to team up by the time the credits roll on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’s obvious that these heroes – and any other members of the Justice League who decide to get involved – need to have a formidable physical threat to square off against.

Metallo and a power suit wearing Lex Luthor were once rumoured, but the most popular and widely believed claim is that Doomsday is who they’ll face. Oh, and he’ll be the reanimated corpse of General Zod once Luthor has finished tinkering with the fallen Man of Steel villain’s remains.

Both the trailer and comments from Michael Shannon have lent some credibility to this one, and it’s a smart way to connect Batman V Superman to what’s come before. While it would have been nice in some ways to see Doomsday saved for a solo Superman movie, an out of control monster like him is the perfect foe for these heroes to face off against, as we get to see them in action together for the first time.

While Doomsday has appeared in live-action before (the less said about his Smallville stint, the better), Snyder has the chance to deliver something truly epic here, so here’s hoping he does!
