8 Captain America: Civil War Rumors That We Hope Come True

Captain America: Civil War is by far one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016, and looks set to be perhaps the biggest one, too (sorry, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). As the first film in Marvel's Phase 3, it's going to set the stage for everything to come, as Captain America and Iron Man go to war and the Avengers are divided.

1) Red Skull Returns

While Hugo Weaving has said on a number occasions that he’s not keen on the idea of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Red Skull, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t return in some other form (the villain has had a number of bodies over the years, and even wore a Red Skull mask for a time).

In Captain America: Civil War, Daniel Bruhl is playing Baron Zemo, but with rumours swirling that the plan in the movie is to bring back the Red Skull, there are those who believe that his ultimate goal is to resurrect the former leader of Hydra in some way, or that he is actually the Red Skull.

Whatever the answer may be, it would be amazing to see this iconic bad guy back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Weaving really doesn’t want to come back, then let Bruhl take over. F

rom a story point of view, having Earth’s Mightiest Heroes go to war with each other while Zemo works on resurrecting one of history’s greatest villains would also be pretty spectacular, especially if Captain America: Civil War ends with the Red Skull back and ready to bring the world to its knees.

The Avengers meanwhile would be fractured, with Captain America possibly behind bars, or even dead…
