The following shot sees Natasha, Steve, Bruce and Rhodey walking across the field that surrounds the Avengers complex. We don’t see what they’re looking at, but they all seem to be staring agape up at the night sky. It seems a safe bet to say that they ‘re about to get reinforcements from outer space.

But who could this be? Well, it’s possible that it’s just Thor arriving back at the compound in his usual thunderous way. However, the assembled heroes look shocked at whoever it is, which they wouldn’t necessarily be if it was Chris Hemsworth’s hero. So, maybe it’s Tony and Nebula, having finally made it back to Earth following their tinkering with the Benatar.

Alternatively, could it be Captain Marvel herself? We know that she’s due to return to Earth in the movie following Nick Fury’s distress call to her back in Infinity War and her arrival would definitely leave the Avengers with their mouths hanging.

Then again, a lot of fans are assuming that someone’s been edited out of this shot, as there’s a conspicuous gap between Bruce and Rhodey. If so, that would make the most sense if it was Carol Danvers, so as to save the reveal of her union with the heroes for a later trailer.
