How Did Ant-Man Escape The Quantum Realm?

The last time we saw Scott Lang, in the Ant-Man and the Wasp post-credits teaser, he’d been marooned in the Quantum Realm as the Decimation had struck and wiped out Hank Pym and Janet and Hope Van Dyne during an experiment. However, the Endgame trailer reveals that he eventually gets out and comes a-knocking on the Avengers’ door.

Our big question is, then: how did Scott escape? After all, Janet was stranded down there for 30 years before they rescued her. So, how did Scott get himself out? He did manage it before at the end of the first Ant-Man, but that was more of a quick accidental trip. The AMATW scene suggested he’d been lost in the depths of the place.

Cap and Black Widow are clearly not behind his escape and Tony’s stuck in space, so there doesn’t seem to be anyone around that could’ve helped him. Alternatively, if time travel is a major plot point, could there be some convoluted timey-wimey reason for his release?
