Once we saw the terrific trailers, though, that question quickly morphed into 'can it live up to all the hype?'

El Diablo is one of the unexpected plus points of Suicide Squad. No one was expecting such a lowgrade villain from the comics to be one of the film’s best characters, but Jay Hernandez offers a great performance as the tragic hero who can’t control his pyrotechnic powers. He even gets a heroic sacrifice where he goes against Enchantress’ monstrous brother and reveals himself to be a big fire demon. Wait, what?

Yes, even comic book fans won’t be able to explain this one, as the character does not possess such an ability in the comics. As he can go toe to toe with Incubus, we can assume that El Diablo’s true form is another ancient entity, like the Enchantress family. Given his name, we could even speculate that he is in fact the devil himself.
