Arguably the biggest film of 2016, not much can be said about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice that hasn't been said already. It's the film that fans have been waiting for, and it's the film that will pave the way for Justice League. If you're not already drooling over this one, you may need to get your head checked.

8 Burning Questions We Have After Watching Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

It is fair to say that the reaction to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been decidedly mixed. A lot of the criticism directed at the movie is to do with how overstuffed it is. Apart from the smash-up between the two titular heroes, BvS also has subplots for Lois Lane, Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Evil Mark Zuckerberg and a big CGI monster. Oh, and it has to set up the other metahumans for their starring roles in the Justice League.

The on-screen iterations of Batman have generally played fast and loose with the character’s usually strict ‘no-killing’ rule. Ben Affleck’s take in BvS takes this to a whole other level, however, as he is by far the most violent Dark Knight we’ve seen.

Not content with branding criminals with the bat symbol (which we are told invariably leads them to being beaten to death in jail), he also has no qualms about driving the Batmobile into people and is not averse to using guns. No wonder Superman thought he needed to be stopped – the guy is a monster!

So, what caused him to get like this? This film does present a couple of hints. Wayne Manor has been destroyed and the Joker-defaced Robin costume on display in the Batcave suggests his partner suffered a terrible fate. Again, this will presumably be further explained in the Batfleck’s solo movie but, let’s face it, we really want to know now.
