The 9 Most Insane DCEU Rumors To Date

Tom Cruise As Hal Jordan/Green Lantern

Recommended Videos

Here’s more recent gossip. We all know by now that Green Lantern Corps is on the way in the not-too-distant future. What we don’t know is who’s set to play the role of Hal Jordan. If The Wrap is to be believed though, Tom Cruise is one of the names in the running for it. Yes, that Tom Cruise.

Frankly, we find this incredibly hard to believe. One, Cruise looks nothing like Jordan. Two, if the film were to reach theatres in 2020, as predicted, Cruise would be 58 at the time of its release. While he still looks incredibly young for his age, it’s unlikely that Warner Bros. will invest in a then-58-year-old man to play a character that could be around for a few more films spanning possibly a decade.

It’s no secret that Cruise demands a lot of control on set, too, and the DCEU really doesn’t need any other opinionated cooks in their kitchen. Make no mistake, Cruise is a talented actor, and we love watching him on the big screen, but we just don’t see him as Hal. Or anyone else in the franchise for that matter.
