10 Moments From Avengers: Age Of Ultron That You’ll Watch Again And Again

Regardless of whether you actually like Avengers: Age of Ultron or not, the film was always going to be Marvel's crowning achievement thus far, building upon the phenomenal success of the first Avengers film. Joss Whedon had a monumental task on his hands assembling the numerous components in Age of Ultron, but even his detractors have a lot of positive things to say about the movie. With so much happening at once though, it's easy to miss certain aspects of the film the first time round, making Age of Ultron one of the most re-watchable Marvel movies yet.

The defining shot in the first Avengers movie, the one that made comic book geeks worldwide tremble with unadulterated joy, was the panning shot Whedon used in the final battle to show the whole team finally fighting together as one. While this is certainly paid homage to in the opening prologue, Whedon somehow manages to pull off the impossible and create an even more impressive version of this now iconic team shot in the big finale.

As Ultron’s forces close in, the Avengers circle around the nuclear slash electric thingamabob and work together in perfect sync. It’s rare moments like these that prove exactly why superhero movies have become such a popular trend in cinema. For fans of the source material, it’s breathtaking to see the comic panels literally brought to life and for everyone else, it’s just pretty f**king cool.

What’s most impressive about this shot though is that it’s still the most exciting moment in the entire movie, despite basically replicating the best shot of the first film. Without the novelty of seeing the heroes together for the first time, Whedon had to up the ante and the action never fails to impress throughout this final battle.
