Cap-Thor-Age-of-Ultron

What makes a team-up movie like Avengers: Age of Ultron so fricking exciting is the interactions that can be explored between these iconic heroes, whether they are fighting with or against one another. A highlight of the first Avengers was the throw down between Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, culminating in the moment everyone’s favourite Asgardian smashes his hammer down on Cap’s shield.

Whedon plays off against that moment in Age of Ultron, where Thor once again hits Cap’s shield, but this time, hits a home run, taking out Ultron’s forces, left, right and centre. Sure, Thor could have done the exact same thing by just using his own hammer, freeing Cap up to take on more enemies, but would that have looked as cool? If your answer is yes, then you’re probably reading the wrong article.
