At this point, what more can we really say about Marvel's hugely-anticipated sequel? We've been inundated with marketing material over the last several months and it seems like almost the entire world is waiting with baited breath to see what the studio has cooked up here. Simply put, Avengers: Age of Ultron is a sequel to one of the biggest movies of all-time and a hugely important film for Marvel, the comic book movie genre and cinema as a whole. It’s understandable that a room full of big egos like the Avengers would compete in some capacity, but it was particularly amusing to watch Earth’s Mightiest Heroes butt heads over who is worthy enough to lift Thor’s hammer.

While Iron Man and Hawkeye’s feeble attempts raise a few laughs, it’s the moment when Captain America takes a go at lifting Mjolnir that stands out in this scene. As the most clean-cut hero on the team, Steve Rogers seems like he would be the most worthy after Thor himself, but Cap only manages to make the Thunder God’s hammer wobble ever so slightly, clearly freaking Thor out for a moment.

The relief on Thor’s face is one of the few small, but memorable moments that captures the barrage of quips and humour from the first Avengers film. Let’s face it, not even someone as creative as Joss Whedon can escape all of the Hollywood commandments, especially the one that entails all sequels MUST BE DARKER AND LESS FUNNY OR THEY’RE NOT REALLY SEQUELS!
