This sequence was teased for months before the release of Captain America: Civil War, with it described as being just like a comic book “splash page.” However, after seeing dozens of heroes battling it out in the comic book version of Civil War, many were understandably disappointed by the sight of five or six heroes on each side running towards each other in the movie’s trailers.

Throwing Spider-Man into the mix may not have made a huge difference to how that ended up looking, but what followed blew everyone away, and whether we’re talking about Giant-Man stomping his way through the battlefield or Black Panther coming to blows with Captain America, this gorgeous looking IMAX sequence is sure to go down in history as one of the best comic book movie scenes ever.
